tip is a research and consulting program for Austrian research, technology and innovation policy.
tip is based on an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit), the Federal Ministry of Science, Education and Culture (bmbwk) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour (bmwa).
tip is the shared project of Austria's leading research institutes in the field: The Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) - prime contractor in charge of the project coordination and management - Joanneum Research and the ARC systems research.
tip produces information and recommendations relevant for Austrian research, technology and innovation policy, which contibutes to improving welfare as well as to maintaining and increasing the competitiveness of the Austrian economy within a dynamic international environment.
tip supports research, technology and innovation policy of bmvit and bm:bwk by diffusing and complementing the results of OECD studies and by participating in relevant research projects of the OECD.
tip provides background infomation and analyses for the annual Austrian Report on Research and Technology.
tip provides ad-hoc expertise for decision makers in the areas of research, technology and innovation policies, in particular in the OECD context.
tip is international in its orientation. It is part of networks of scientists, entrepreneurs, managers and policy makers and contributes to the diffusion of information and best practices among these groups.
tip serves the public interest and aims to intensify discussion on research, technology and innovation policy matters within Austria. This discussion will be enhanced by an internet information plattform, the publication of relevant reports and by a series of workshops.
